My hair had grown out from and inverse bob and I wanted to go shorter on it, but not too short. I found a cute long pixie with curls ( my hair is naturally curly) and took the photo with me to get it done. I was paired with an older light skinned African American lady ( I didn't catch her name) and I showed her the picture and told her what I wanted. She told me we would have to take it short in the back, which threw me off, like I said this was a long pixie, it didn't need to be that much shorter, and once I showed her the picture two more times and had been assured it wouldn't be too short she began to cut.
Apparently checking in in person before other in person check ins means nothing at this location. They take whom ever they want and blow you off while you are sitting there.
Was a good place in the past but they are perpetually understaffed. One huge disappointment was the poor time estimation. Was told one person in front of me....maybe 15 minutes. One hour later I was still sitting there and they said there is still one person in front of me.
What I got was not a long pixie. It was an inverted bob, very short at the nape and much shorter in the front than I wanted. She then asked me how I generally styled my hair and I told her I use light hold products because I don't like my hair to look and feel 'crispy'. She then proceeded to use three different styling products and dried them all in my hair sure enough giving me that fresh from the 90s crisp and making my already too short hair look even shorter.
I love the ladies here. I brought all 3 kids and they were so accommodating didn't get upset with my boys and were friendly. The haircuts were good for the boys so I was happy.
I paid for the cut, almost too shocked to do anything else and immediately went home and cried. I called another salon to see if they could fit me in before I had to go to work and that did a lot to help calm me down. I will probably go back today and get a refund, because I think I can be calmer about it today, but I will not return to the salon for service. All of the stylists were really nice ( even the lady who did my cut yesterday was very congenial ) but after a string of lack luster cuts and this horrendous screw up I think I'm better off dumping this place and moving on. Sorry Hair Cuttery, but it's definitely you, not me.
Tried again on Sunday. Checked website. Says they are open till 6. Get to the door and they put a piece of paper with a number 2 over the 6, changing the hours from 9-6 to 9-2. Can I give a 0 star?
I have used this salon since I moved back to town three years ago. I never found a stylist who really seemed to work well for me here. Either I found someone I liked and then never saw them there again, or I'd have a brand new stylist who was just cutting hair as a side job. I never had a "bad" cut until this past visit.
Go in on a Wednesday at about 4. 1 person in a chair 1 person waiting. Waited about an hour before leaving. Just wanted a simple cut and a shave.
