Who in the world is running the show there? Muslims? They will never take over America. Why would any American public school care to teach about a religion that hates all that America stands for. Find in their curan saying to kill all infidels. Who do you think the infidels are? All that don't become Muslim. It is a religion of hate not love. If I heard of the homework I would pull my child out of school and notify the newspaper and write a speak out letter. Protect our children.
This school should be investigated for what it is teaching kids about Islam. As a veteran I stand with John Kevin Wood, who's child has been forced to learn and accept aspects of Islam while Christianity is slandered. La Plata, you better screen your teachers and their lesson plans before you get shut down. Fire anyone who is teaching youth that Sharia and Islam is anything other than a brutal religion that sanctions pedophilia, rape, violence, and terrorism. This is America and we will not allow our kids minds to be poisoned.
My son had 52 cents in his account because I forgot to give him his lunch money. He was in the line and had his lunch. When they saw that he didn't have anything in his account they took the tray of food from him and he didn't get anything. I will be calling the board of education tomorrow..
I graduated in '07, but I cannot imagine that the school has changed that much. Having transferred from a private school to public, in middle school, going to LPHS was a blessing for me! The teachers really cared about us! LPHS was always an academic oriented school. Where free thoughts and opinions were encouraged. This media hype is ridiculous. There is no way with some of the same faculty that worked there when my mother worked there that something wouldn't have been done about this before it became what it became. Referring to Jennifer H's post, I can see that the situation was likely blown out of proportion. -- I was ill my senior year and my Latin teacher came to my HOUSE to help me keep up with my studies! I was too sick to go to school and that is how much they cared that I continue to learn and feel supported even though I couldn't make it into a classroom. -- My theater teacher gave me an award because I went on stage the day after one of my surgeries! -- This is not a school that would perpetuate hate or intend to create disruption of the well-being of their students, family members, or faculty.
If this is the school that is teaching the benefits of Islam in their school assignments but do not give equal aptitude to other world religions, this is what they've decided to do with taxpayers money? Very clearly see how the parent Mr. K. Wood could be very upset. They can teach on Islam but yet they can't learn about the 10 Commandments?
