The LaPlata PO makes up their own rules. Karen goes out of her way to make sure the package is within regulation. I was in last week to request my mail be resumed delivery. I gave her my license and she was ready to retrieve it.Then out of nowhere a lady runs in & request she give her back some mail as the forwarding address had changed. Karen STOPS waiting on me and tells me that I can be waited on HIM - who was HIM - the man in the middle who was working. No, HIM was Mr. Said and he took care of my request. I was given back a days worth of mail. Then the following day - the post master delivered what they had been holding onto. This was good since we have not received any since then. If I did not have to use them for a hold because I reside in LaPlata - I would not. They are not efficient. They show everytime I have been in there - they do not care. If you want the BEST service for your needs - go to Pomfret or Port Tobacco. They are worthy of your time!!!
I've used this post office twice in the last 4 months and both times it has cost me money. I typically use the Hughesville office and have done so daily for the last 4 years. In those 4 years, I have never had any poor handling that resulted in me losing money. On two occasions now due to my schedule I've had to use the La Plata office and both times, they damaged my package and the contents and it resulted in me receiving negative comments on eBay and losing money. I have over 1,000 transactions and feedback on eBay and the only 2 negatives that I have are from when I have used this office. It's completely ridiculous that people are paid to do a job and then when they are terrible at it that they are able to continue that job. With how fickle people are these days, this particular office has literally robbed me and my family of a few thousand dollars in sales they damaged and in potential sales from others. Please I beg you, stay away from using this office. I will never use this office again.
Why bother to ship priority paying extra money to get bar code if your not going to scan it. This post office looses packages.
Terrible customer service, you can tell they really don’t want to do their job. All they do is make excuses.
If I could give a rating even further down the scale I would. Does this post office leave any notification of an attempt to deliver to a local business? How do they justify returning mail on a one time attempt to a BUSINESS and indicate there was not mail receptacle to deliver? Unacceptable service from the USPS.
