I didn't attend the church, but volunteered to aid in the food drive a few weekends when I was living at my mother's house. The parishioners are friendly, warm, and open-hearted. Even though I chose not to attend services, they were kind to both my boyfriend and I as we volunteered. I really felt like we were making a difference in the lives of those that we provided food for on those days and really cherish the experience.
Great setting and equipment, but unpleasant celebrant. Father Sam celebrated my grandfather's funeral in a gloomy, slow, almost rude way. My grandfather was an active parishioner over 50 years. Sam's homily was long, rambling, included lessons on the sign of the devil and details on purgatory. Before communion, he admonished non-catholics and sinning catholics that they weren't invited. He refused communion to my nephew, who is timid, but received first communion and goes regularly to our catholic church. He agreed to let my Episcopalian relative conduct the grave service, but seemed to rescind part of the offer, maybe after realizing she is female.
We love our church!
I really enjoyed myself with kind and loving people. My first time visit there was heart warming, organized and very welcome.
